Our Story
Ribeiro Small Batch began back in 2016 when a Norfolk County family learned that artificial vanilla extract was a combination of imitation ingredients and chemicals that they didn't want to be baking with.
As a result, husband and wife duo Carlos and Meg Ribeiro set out to create an ultra pure homemade vanilla extract to bring to their kitchen and yours.
After teaming up with a local distillery for the purest eco-friendly alcohol, countless hours were spent getting in touch with some of the best vanilla farmers in the world. Today, they are proud to source their vanilla pods from the homesteads of farming families in South America.
And they didn't stop there. Many large vanilla processing companies use heat to speed up the extraction process, but that method can ruin some of the 200+ compounds in vanilla that contribute to its flavour and aroma. Carlos and Meg, wanting to protect the integrity of the flavours, opted for the ancient cold extraction method.
This method means the vanilla pods are steeped in pure alcohol and water from the Norfolk County aquifer, for weeks at a time. The process is longer and more tedious, but the results? Worth it.
And so, with just two all-natural ingredients, Ribeiro Small Batch: Ultra Pure Vanilla Extract was created.
